Danica's first Ribfest!

She is 3.5 wks, 10.2 pounds, consistently reaching for things with her right hand, and sleeping 3-4 hr stretches at night, though we still struggle with long periods of colic/reflux/crabbiness during the evenings.

All of the photos from Danica's newborn shoot with Ellen Dykstra can be found HERE.

Also, she lost the rest of her belly button scab today.  So I guess she's all growed up now.

Dear Sheila's Co-Workers:
Our baby is TWO WEEKS OLD.  No, she does not sleep through the night.  I am not interested in getting her to sleep through the night.  There would be something wrong with her if she were sleeping through the night at this age.  She needs to eat a little more often than once every eight hours.
Thanks!

However, here are the things she CAN do...
roll from back to side
roll from side to stomach
lift & turn head while lying on stomach
arch back to support weight while sitting up (just can't balance)
laugh
weigh in at ten pounds (up from birth weight of 8lb 10oz)

Also, for anyone not on my Facebook, here is my current status message...  Because everyone seems to want to know, yes, I gave birth with no epidural or pain meds.  It was intense, but nothing I wasn't prepared for.  Thanks to everyone who thought I couldn't do it and/or told me birth pain horror stories while I was pregnant.  You only made me more convinced to do things my way instead of yours.  I have a beautiful, healthy baby and no regrets  :)

Still pregnant.
Fuck off if you think it's funny.
Did acupuncture yesterday.  It hurt way more than I thought it would, wasn't the least bit relaxing, and didn't seem to accomplish much.  It actually still hurts where he stuck the needles into my sacrum and hooked them up to a TENS machine.
Acupuncture, acupressure, aromatherapy, red raspberry leaf tea, evening primrose oil, walking, chiropractic, spicy food, guided imagery, and still no freakin baby.  I'm drawing the line at castor oil.
Sheila's family and co-workers are being really obnoxious with the "have you had that baby yet?" phone calls and facebook messages.  I've stopped responding.  And I'm tired of hearing all this bullshit about how just because she's late being born means she's going to be stubborn her entire life "just like her mom".
I could go into more detail about how irritated & frustrated & miserable I am right now, but I won't.  I've been getting the snot kicked out of me all night so at least I know she's okay.
We're considering induction on Sunday (42w mark) if she's not born before then.  Still weighing the pros and cons.
